- Fig. 1 Overview of power meter
Applies to vehicles: with plug-in hybrid drive
The power meter displays the status and availability of the plug-in hybrid system.
The power meter is located in the instrument cluster instead of a rev counter. A digital rev counter can be displayed in the driver information system ►Link / ►Link.
The power meter responds to the driver's accelerator pedal input and indicates the current fuel/electric power demand (%) regardless of whether it is the electric motor or the engine that is presently active.
The green areas on the dial are used to show that the vehicle is being driven economically and that energy is being recuperated ►Link. Less economical driving is indicated when the needle points to the orange area. The battery status also informs you about the charge level of the high-voltage battery.
-1- | Vehicle not ready to be driven (OFF) |
-2- | Recuperation (CHARGE) |
-3- | Vehicle ready to be driven (READY) |
-4- | Efficient driving with the electric motor or the combustion engine (EFFICIENCY) |
-5- | Economical driving with the electric motor/combustion engine running at partial load |
-6- | Driving at full load |
-7- | Power output 100% |
-8- | Boosting - electric motor supporting the combustion engine (BOOST) |
-9- | Charge level of the high-voltage battery |
-10- | EV mode active/EV mode currently unavailable |
-11- | Speed limit for electric driving in EV mode (130 km/h) |
