Applies to vehicles: with Audi adaptive cruise control
In some situations the adaptive cruise control system alone is not able to brake the vehicle sufficiently to maintain a safe distance to the vehicle in front. The driver intervention prompt warns you to take action in these situations.
The instrument cluster display draws your attention to the danger:
  • A red vehicle symbol will be shown on the display.
  • The message DISTANCE! will appear in the system status indicator.
  • The red warning lamp will start to flash.
  • A warning tone will sound (as long as the tone has not been switched off via the infotainment system).
