Applies to vehicles: with car telephone kit
A SIM card inserted in the SIM card reader can be operated via the MMI system or the handset* for the car telephone kit.
Important: The MMI media drive cover concealing the card readers must be open Link.
Inserting SIM card
Insert the SIM card (printed side facing up, contact surface facing down) into the slot of the card reader -1- Fig. 1. The cut-away corner of the SIM card should be at the front left.
Then push the SIM card into the slot until you feel it engage.
Removing SIM card
Briefly press the SIM card. The card will then eject from the slot.
Remove the SIM card.
With the SIM card reader you can use all the functions of the car telephone kit, independent of the mobile phone. After inserting the SIM card, the system will ask for the SIM PIN code in the display of the MMI or the handset* for the car telephone kit.
After the SIM card has been inserted, the contacts are automatically loaded into the directory of the MMI. It may take several minutes to load the entries, depending on how many contacts are stored on the mobile phone. For more information about the directory, please refer to Link.
Note
If there is a SIM card in the SIM card reader and in the handset*, and a mobile phone with SIM card is connected, only the SIM card in the SIM card reader is used.
