- Fig. 1 Remote control for auxiliary heating/ventilation
Applies to vehicles: with auxiliary heating/ventilation
Once you have set the running time, there are three different ways to switch the auxiliary heating/ventilation on/off.
Setting the running time
Select: Function selector button CAR > control button AC > Running time. Or:
Select: Function selector button CAR > control button Car systems* > Auxiliary heating > Running time.
You can set a running time between 15 and 60 minutes.
Switching on/off with the remote control
Press the button -1- for about 2 seconds to switch on the auxiliary heating/ventilation. The LED -3- will flash in green for about 30 seconds.
Press the OFF button -2- for about 2 seconds to switch off the auxiliary heating/ventilation. The LED will flash in red for about 30 seconds.
Switching on/off via the sound system/MMI*
Select: Function selector button CAR > control button AC > Aux. heating or Aux. ventilation. Or:
Select: Function selector button CAR > control button Car systems* > Aux. heating or Aux. ventilation.
Setting and activating the timers
To set a timer, select: Function selector button CAR > control button AC > e.g. Timer 1. Or:
Select: Function selector button CAR > control button Car systems* > Auxiliary heating > e.g. Timer 1.
To activate a timer, select: Function selector button CAR > control button AC > Timer status. Or:
Select: Function selector button CAR > control button Car systems* > Auxiliary heating > Timer status.
Remote control
The remote control will work at a distance of approximately 3 metres to 600 metres, however this can be greatly reduced by obstacles (buildings, etc.). Hold the aerial -4- upright and do not cover the aerial with your hand.
The LED -3- indicates if the auxiliary heating/ventilation cannot be switched on/off.
- If the LED flashes slowly in red, the remote control is out of range.
- If the LED flashes rapidly in red, the conditions for operation have not been met or a fault has occurred.
- If the LED does not flash, the remote control battery is flat.
Timer
Three timers are available; only one can be activated at a time. When the time set on one of the timers elapses, the date automatically changes to the next day. The desired timer must be activated again the next time you wish to use the auxiliary heating/ventilation. This prevents the system from switching on unintentionally.
Note
The auxiliary heating/ventilation is NOT switched off when you press the OFF button on the air conditioner console. The OFF button just switches the blower on/off.
