To see whether a fuse has blown, check whether the metal strip has melted.
The fuses are located behind the storage compartment in the driver's footwell and in the engine compartment.
Preparations
Switch off the ignition and the component concerned.
Refer to the following tables to identify the fuse for the failed component.
Fuses behind storage compartment
Open the storage compartment.
Press the retainers on both sides inwards and fold the storage compartment all the way down Fig. 1.
Fuses in engine compartment
Open the bonnet Link.
Release the fuse cover by sliding the two tabs (left and right) forwards Fig. 2.
Take off the fuse cover.
Changing a fuse
There is a clip underneath the fuses behind the storage compartment on the driver's side.
Fold the storage compartment all the way down and take the clip out of its mounting.
Use the clip to pull out the fuse and replace the blown fuse with a fuse of the same rating.
WARNING!
Never attempt to repair a fuse or replace a blown fuse by fitting a fuse with a higher ampere rating. This could damage the electrical system - risk of fire!
Caution!
If a newly replaced fuse blows again after a short time, the electrical system must be checked by a qualified workshop as soon as possible.
