Applies to vehicles: with Audi music interface and iPod adapter cable
The iPod is connected to the Audi music interface via the iPod adapter cable.
Connecting the iPod connector
Connect the iPod adapter cable* to the iPod.
Disconnecting the iPod connector
Release the connector by pressing both knobs -1- Fig. 1.
Carefully pull the connector out of the iPod -2-.
The iPod battery is charged via the iPod adapter cable* when the iPod is connected to the Audi music interface and the ignition is switched on.
The following iPods can be connected to the iPod adapter cable*:
- iPod mini (version 1.3.0 and higher)
- iPod nano 1G, 2G and 3G
- iPod 4G - Fourth Generation (version 1.2.1 and higher)
- iPod 5G - Fifth Generation (video)
- iPod 6G - Sixth Generation (classic)
- iPod touch
- iPhone
Other iPod versions (e.g. iPod shuffle) cannot be connected with the iPod adapter cable*. You can connect these devices as portable players using the optional adapter cable with 3.5 mm jack plug* Link.
The following iPod control functions are not supported by the MMI:
- Star rating for music tracks
- Jumping to a specific place in a track
- Adding tracks to the "on-the-go" playlist
- Displaying the "compilations" folder. Similarly, tracks marked "part of a compilation" are not included in the artist list if the compilation function was activated in the iPod.
- Marking podcasts as played/not played
Note
- Use only adapter cables with number 4F0 051 510 K to connect an iPod.
- Any problems with the iPod will also affect its operation via the MMI. In this case, please reset your iPod (see operating instructions)
