The red button releases the belt from the buckle.

Press the red button in the belt buckle Fig. 291►-1- . The latch plate is released and springs out.
Press the red button in the belt buckle -2-. The latch plate is released and springs out.
Guide the belt back by hand so that it is taken up by the retractor.
Insert the two latch plates back into the holder.
You can normally leave the large latch plate in the belt buckle while driving so that you only have to insert the small latch plate in the belt buckle -1- when wearing the seat belt.
If you want to use the luggage compartment without any seat belts, you can release the large latch plate from the belt buckle -2- and retract the belt completely.
