The operating unit can be protected by entering any four-digit PIN. If a PIN is activated, the PIN must always be entered before the system can be used.
We recommend that you lock the operating unit to protect it against access by unauthorised persons.
Activating the PIN
Select SET PIN with the arrow button -C-.
Press the OK button -D-. ENTER PIN will appear on the display.
Select a digit using the up/down arrow buttons -C-.
Press the right arrow button -C- to access the next digit.
Press the left arrow button -C- to jump back to the previous menu.
Enter all the digits.
Press the OK button -D- after the last digit.
REPEAT PIN will appear on the display.
Enter the same PIN again using the arrow buttons -C-.
Press the OK button -D-.
If the two entries are identical, PIN OK will appear on the display.
The PIN is now activated.
Deactivating the PIN
Important: The operating unit must be unlocked.
Enter the numeric combination 0000. Follow the same steps as for activating the PIN ►Link.
The PIN is deactivated.
Locking the operating unit
Important: The PIN must be activated.
Press the

Press any button on the operating unit.
PIN? will appear on the display.
Enter the PIN.
Press the OK button -D-.
Note
- New units are supplied with the PIN deactivated.
- If you forget your PIN, please contact an Audi dealer.
- If you repeat the PIN entry with a different PIN, the first PIN you entered will be displayed.
- If you do not make an entry for 20 seconds, the setting will not be changed.
