Important: A source must be selected.
Select: MEDIA button > control button Settings.
Depending on the active source and the storage device used, you can select the following settings:
Sound settings

Repeat options
When the function is switched on , the current track/folder will be repeated.
The Random playback function also depends on the repeat option settings.
Random playback
Important: An audio/video file must be playing, and a repeat option must be set Link.
  • Repeat options Off: all the files of the current source are played in random order. This option is only available for the jukebox and the CD changer*.
  • Repeat options Folder: the tracks in the selected folder are played in random order.
If you change the source while in the Media menu, the Random playback function will be deactivated automatically.
Track display
Important: An audio file must be playing.
  • file name: The file name is displayed without the file extension.
  • track name: The name of the current track or the last track played will be shown.
Display track info
Important: An audio file must be playing.
Depending on availability, information on the selected track (e.g. embedded album covers*) as well as the total and remaining playing time will be shown.
Audio track
Important: A video DVD must be playing.
The audio track (language and audio format) can be adjusted manually. It depends on the video DVD whether different languages and audio formats are available.
Subtitles
Important: A video DVD must be playing.
You can select the subtitle setting manually. It depends on the video DVD whether different languages are available.
Picture format
Important: A video DVD must be playing.
Picture format: The picture format can be adjusted automatically. The width of the picture will vary depending on the film format. Alternatively you can select the formats 4:3, 5:4 and 16:9.
Zoom: the picture is expanded to the full MMI display.
original: the film is displayed in the stored picture format.
Cinemascope: the picture is displayed in the format 47:20.
Display settings
Important: A portable player must be connected via an iPod adapter cable plus*/AV adapter cable* Link.
Select: MEDIA button > control button Source > Audi music interface (e.g. iPod) > control button Settings.
  • Brightness: The brightness can be increased/reduced.
  • Contrast: The picture contrast can be increased/reduced.
  • Colour: The colour intensity can be increased/reduced.
  • Tint: to change the tint of the picture (with AV standard NTSC).
  • AV standard: PAL or NTSC can be set on the MMI as the standard for an externally connected player. The same standard must also be set on the player.
Input level
Important: A portable player must be connected via an adapter cable with 3.5 mm jack plug*/AV adapter cable*/iPod adapter cable (plus)* Link.
The volume of the portable player will be adapted to the MMI system. Audi recommends setting the volume of the portable player to about 70 percent of the maximum volume.

Child lock
Important: A video DVD must be playing, and the password must have been entered (password set at the factory: "1234").
You can use the child lock to restrict video DVD playback. Select and confirm a safety level (e.g. Level 5). Eight safety levels are available for the child lock function. If you select child lock level 5*, for example, all DVDs with safety levels 1-5 can be played. Playback of DVDs with a higher safety level will be blocked. To cancel all restricted access settings select off.
Use the function Change password if you would like to edit the current password for the child lock.
Note
  • Not all video DVDs have a child lock feature.
  • If you enter the wrong password three times in a row, you will not be able to enter a password for approximately one minute. The child lock password can only be reset by an Audi workshop.
  • The Track display Link function cannot be used for the jukebox or a connected iPod.
  • The DTS audio format (Digital Theater Systems) is only supported by the DVD drive.
