Always fasten your seat belts before driving off.
Insert the large latch plate -1- into the buckle belonging to the seat -A- and push it down until it locks securely with an audible click.
Take hold of the small latch plate -2- and pull the belt across your lap.
Insert the latch plate -2- into the buckle belonging to the seat -B- and push it down until it locks securely with an audible click.
Pull the belt to ensure that both latch plates are securely engaged in the buckles.
The large latch plate -1- only has to be engaged as described above if it was unfastened earlier link►.
The three-point inertia reel belts are tensioned automatically. The retractor system gives complete freedom of movement, as long as the pull on the belt is slow. Hard braking locks the belt. The belt will also lock when you accelerate, drive up or down a steep hill or in a sharp curve.
- Always make certain that the belt is positioned properly - risk of injury link►.
- The latch plate of the belt must always be engaged in the correct buckle for that seat. Otherwise the belt will not be fully effective and the danger of injury increases.
Note
An illustration of how to fasten the seat belts can be found on the large latch plate.
